No, that’s not (just) Karl’s opinion, it’s a statement made today by Congressman Matt Cartwright, a Pennslyvania Democrat.
Pennslyvania is a key state Trump needs for re-election and in my opinion, he is ahead there by 4 to 5 points. Congressman Cartwright must agree with me, or his glowing tribute to the President today during a broadcast interview would almost certainly have come off sounding very different.
Trump did something big this week.
The president showed the world he is not rash, he has a humane side, he is a love-motivated president, and people are noticing. I think his decision to let those 150 Iranian radar operators live, got him a million votes in the 2020 key swing demographic of undecideds — who have been patiently waiting to see if he meant it when he said he wanted the US out of these horrible, expensive, protracted, Middle East wars.
As of today, I have him at 331 electoral votes in the next election.
Apparently, he meant it when he said he was not a rash hothead, but a stable genius. It sounds silly when he talks that way — but he’s proving he can say no to the war machine, the neocons, the media, and the military industrial establishment — and that is something Americans are longing for — and something no other, more sophisticated sounding politicians, have been able to do.
“He listens to Bolton, he listens to Nancy Pelosi, the president listens to everybody…” Cartwright gushed. Was Cartwright being sincere or does his internal polling indicate it’s time for the pols in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Ohio to do some listening of their own?
