Where are we as a country?
Trump has changed America and in 60 days we’ll see if that change is going to last.
Most of the people who write stuff, are working for people with an ax to grind or a corporate sponsor to please, I just knock out what I’m really thinking, time after time.
Here’s a little recap:
Americans vote their wallet, and right now, everywhere you look, that benefits Trump.
Americans punish politicians that break promises, and this factor also benefits Trump.
Americans typically vote local — but against the sitting president by a much higher percentage in the swing voter demographic groups. This explains why Trump has retained his base, eroded the opposition base — and nevertheless has Generic ballot weakness (-5) — because the swing demo shifted the most since the election, against a sitting president. This emotion is typically expressed in voter surveys as people that want to “check” the president’s power, and indeed, that is exactly what it is, not a referendum on Trump at all, he’s winning that referendum.
Law and Order, Trade Deal reform, Immigration system reform, The southern border Wall, DACA, Merit, and Lottery quota system reform, Regulation reform, Tax reform, DOJ and FBI reform — Trump has a list of priorities that the American people, in the vast majority, support. Again this helps the president, people vote for things, not against them and the president has a long list of things he has either done or wants to DO — that people also want him to do.
His enemies offer nothing of substance and still do not see the peril in that.
The Dems performance at the Kavanaugh hearing this week was damaging to the base, and they will be furious about this embarrassment — when it fails.
I think Trump ends up with 54 or 55 Senate seats and only loses 10 to 15 House seats in 60 days at the midterms, and I consider that — a miracle.
