Trump’s genius peaking through
The left hate him, they think he’s running around grabbing women by the hoo hah all day long – and they are missing the show of a lifetime.
Trump is showing the entire world, what the Art of the Deal really is. The immigration ban, which he won hands down today at the Supreme Court, is not a lesson in force as it appears, but a lesson in finesse.
Shortly after swearing in — he headed for the first thing he knew he could do, and had to do, considering his campaign rhetoric and tone – ban unvetted immigrants from countries likely to be a source of either terrorists or terrorist sympathizers.
It was poorly drafted, although the President was on solid ground constitutionally, it needed a rewrite. Here Trump amazed me, he ordered it rewritten and did so largely to incorporate the objections/suggestions of Alan Dershowitz, a liberal Harvard Law professor, and a smart one.
This victory today was unanimous and broad reaching even though the court will hear the full case in October. This will surprise many, but not my blog readers, who have heard me repeatedly, proclaim — Trump would be vindicated by SCOTUS — when his travel ban issue eventually got there.
He’s done the right thing on health care by letting this whole Freedom Caucus struggle, CBO estimate fright night, and Democratic boycott drama play out. This needed digesting and he’s letting it cook just right.
Trump also handled the Russia thing like a much more experienced President, pushing his people to testify openly and quickly. The Gorsuch victory was a thing of beauty and the fruits of his labor are ripening on the table.
But all this stuff is just pre game warm ups. Trump has two tests before him and he better have all eyes, all hands and all attention on those two; the new corporate tax system and/or rate changes and North Korea.
Let Haley handle the U.N., Israel and Europe, she’s a star. Let Sanders handle the press, they made themselves irrelevant, let them stew in it. Mattis has ISIS on the run and knows how to win under that scenario, thank god. Tillerson is a gem, has great instincts and should be given even more leeway.
This should leave the decks clear for the President to keep one eye on North Korea everyday, and then focus on changing America, making it great again, the ONLY way it or any other country can be made great — through a robust capitalistic system – which depends on a fair and sensible corporate tax code – neither of which we have at the moment.
Trump will bring back the profit motive and the economic productivity and the wave of wealth, that will create, will do the rest.
