It’s Time for Merkel to Fall
Angela Merkel, chancellor of Germany stepped into a big cow pie of stupidity this week, and inadvertently proved every point Trump has been making on the stump and from the White House.
First, her tone deaf, stupid, and illogical remarks: “The times when we could fully count on others are over to a certain extent. I have experienced this in the last few days,” Merkel said.
The actual facts. Germany, twice, while my parents and grand parents were alive — attacked the entire world, with the intent of murdering all non-Germans. Twice, the only force capable of stopping that disaster, the U.S. Army, came in and did the job.
Then, the U.S. spent BILLIONS rebuilding Germany, drafting a constitution for them, and helping them against a new terror, the communists. After decades of defense spending at two or three times the amount Germany spent, in per capita as a percentage of gdp terms, the Soviets collapsed and the big threat to Germany receded.
Now, she hears from Trump, this horrible unbalanced situation can’t go on, that NATO only stands if everyone pulls their weight — and this is her statement:
“We Europeans must really take our destiny into our own hands, of course in friendship with the United States, in friendship with Great Britain, with other neighbors wherever possible, also with Russia,” she continued. “But we must know that we need to fight for our future ourselves, as Europeans, for our destiny.”
The United States was helping you do that Merkel, and if you don’t get that, you need to join Obama in retirement.
