Perez vs Ellison
To the Faithful Five, I apologize for my absence this past week, someday I’ll write about what happened, but for the moment, I’m actually afraid of a contempt charge – if I do.
I had two pieces in the hopper — I was working on — that I have not published — before I was “interrupted” last week — but I can’t turn back toward those subjects at the moment because of the importance of the following new and very timely piece on the DNC.
The all important vote for DNC head — that may very well decide the future of the Democratic Party — is coming up this week and the people of America and the people of Montgomery County Maryland — should be watching closely.
The national media (in total disgrace at the moment) has decided there is little difference between these two leading candidates, calling them both ultra-liberal representatives of either the Sanders/Warren camp (Ellison) or a product of the Obama/Hillary camp (Perez), which implies a similar outcome no matter which one wins.
I completely disagree with this.
Perez was Obama’s LABOR Secretary and a good one, who did things popular with the American worker –BUT was evenhanded and efficient with his handling of the West Coast dock workers strike and handled himself well in many other instances
See https://karlspain.wordpress.com/2015/02/14/putin-and-the-ayatollah-have-obama-in-training-for-the-unions/ for the rest of that story.
Ellison is the polar opposite choice.
He’s a Congressman for God’s sake — with little to no legislative achievement behind him — and he’s the ONLY Muslim in Congress.
The chances his agenda will be embraced by the disaffected lower educated workers who abandoned the Dem party in droves this election – are literally zero.
Let your elected representatives know today — you want Perez.
Disclaimer: This is my third or fourth piece supporting Tom and part of that enthusiasm is my personal knowledge of his character. Perez is from Montgomery County and was a County Council member here, where I published multiple newspapers — which always supported him.
So, this is a little home cooking from me, but not enough to sway the issue points, I would be behind Perez in this race against Ellison — even if Tom was from Tim-Buk-Too.
