I’m not an important person so you won’t see this, but I want to welcome you to Washington D.C. from the man who the city is named after.
George Washington was a great genius, a man who in one lifetime; founded a new type of Democracy, founded the U.S. Army, founded and led the team that created the U.S. Constitution — but what many don’t talk about — was HOW he did all that, and George Washington’s answer to that was always the same, he gave credit where credit was due, to the teachings; writings, and guidance of Jesus Christ.
When men and women of great capability and great conscience apply the teachings of Jesus in their life and work, great things, miraculous things can happen, and do happen, and I know from watching you — and listening to you; that you understand this.
God is love. Peace be to you and your entire family this day, however many.
It is right to give praise and thanks!
While you are here, be sure to see the Lincoln Memorial as well. America’s second great genius is carved in marble here – but the great question behind his genius has the same answer as the first, Lincoln himself repeatedly credited the teachings; parables, word and scripture of Christ — throughout his life — as his source of knowledge, inspiration, and guidance — and yet they have still written hundreds of books looking for the secret to his genius!
I mention all this because I see in you a love motivated, christlike Pope, who as Washington, Lincoln and Martin Luther King did; uses the example; teachings, word, and scripture of Jesus — to inform their all-important free will decisions. God is love.
Welcome to Washington D.C., from our country’s Father, who would have been thrilled to see you welcomed and treated as an honored Guest, here in his chosen home.
God bless and thank you for being a good Pope, you didn’t have to break tradition unless you wanted to do it – and for love motivated reasons – not personal power or even the aggrandizement of the church. Thank you, because it is right to give praise and thanks.
