Probably not a message he wants to hear right now, but Reagan’s “Trust but Verify” idea would have been a much better slogan for his negotiating team than “Capitulate and Cover-up” which is apparently Kerry’s life motto and the concurrent theme of his negotiations with the Iranians over their very robust, ongoing, nuclear bomb making effort.
Kerry stayed up all night with the Iranians at a pajama party in Switzerland and guess what? By dawn the Russian and Chinese top diplomats had fled the country and this was the statement from Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi
“Sanctions have originated from various points and we are insisting that in the first step, all economic, banking and oil sanctions must be lifted and other sanctions that are related to other issues should also be determined in a timetable,” Araqchi said. “Unless we have a clear view of what will happen to those sanctions, we can’t go forward.”
Kerry view of this of course (actually delusional at the moment) is that we just need to extend the deadline a few more days because we’re sooooooo close. The terrifying thing is, I don’t think the White House security and policy teams even see how ridiculous they look. They must not be reading the New York Times, just leaking to it.
They’ve still got the liberal echo machine (of course) writing soft stuff on the front page and opinion pages of the twin traitors, the Washington Post and New York Times’s about how hard Obama and Kerry and working, (boo-hoo), and how much they really want this (like that matters at all), but even these idiot liberal writers being hand fed by the White House are having doubts — you can see it the writing — each article has more and more detail about what the Iranians aren’t willing to do, and less and less about what a miracle it will be when Obama transforms this region of the world, simply by being Obama, an American president that really understands the rest of the world.
If the president doesn’t call a halt to this nonsense soon, and ask for Kerry’s resignation to boot, he’ll be the laughing stock of the world, which is just enough to embolden Putin.
The Russian foreign minister didn’t leave the talks to brief Putin, he left to tell him, “Invade now, head for the Baltics, these Americans couldn’t take candy from a baby in a neonatal ward.”
