Again the Post disgraces itself

by Karl Spain

Today Congressman Alan Nunnelee died following complications from brain surgery, his family confirmed Friday. “Congressman has gone home to be with Jesus.” This from a news piece in todays Washington Post.

Nice things were said all around by his family, the Republican leadership, the Democratic leadership and the White House.

So what does the Washington Post, against long standing tradition in our industry do next?

They open a comment stream beneath this article about this man dying of brain cancer so the liberal trolls (probably half of who work at WaPo) can get on the stream and pontificate about how they don’t care that he died because he voted against the affordable care act — and every single politician that voted against that bill did it because they don’t care if people are just dying on the sidewalk from no medical care – and deserve to die themselves.

There was a time, when someone at the Post would have been fired for that, now, I doubt they’ll apologize or even notice they did it.
Since I was a journalist professionally for many years, let me say to the Congressman’s family what the idiots at the Post won’t. I’m sorry, that’s not how our industry used to handle death notices, we had some dignity at one time, I swear it.

My sincerest apologies to the Congressman’s family, we simply have no class up here in Washington D.C., but if you’re in the family of a Congressman, you probably already discovered that.
